SICS / Outfield Council

Cover ground with intent.

Make outfield development a coached discipline: flight reads, routes, communication and useful throws.

← All councils
Development focus

Practical position skills.

Ball-flight reads; routes; catch priorities; cutoff decisions; safe fence awareness.

First proposed project

A useful tool, built together.

A communication, route-choice and cutoff decision framework.

Planned podcast series

Beyond the Infield

A position series within one SICS feed. No episodes recorded or scheduled yet.

Bring a case. Improve a practice.

Ask a coaching question → join a facilitated discussion → apply an appropriate tool → record observations → help revise the resource.

What participation will look like.

Member case sessions, working groups, reviewed practice resources and a position track at a future shared convention. All five council communities are planned within the $100 coach membership; in-person events may be separately priced.

Seven seats. Not yet appointed.

One chair and six directors support the council alongside external advisors and member working groups. Nomination and application workflows will be built after criteria, staffing and privacy requirements are approved.

Age-appropriate by design.

Coach-pitch players need basic movement, throwing/catching and positional rotation, not early specialization. Older-player work should reflect readiness, growth, training history and relevant goals. Youth and adult expectations must remain distinct.

These are proposed educational programs, not medical diagnosis or return-to-play clearance. Qualified review, participant consent and age-specific safeguards are required. No industry accreditation or current event availability is claimed.

One international community. Year-round exchange.

All five councils jointly host the planned annual SICS International Baseball Congress, with five position tracks and international presentations. An initial target of two to four smaller in-person events across SICS supplements monthly online learning. Events depend on staffing, hosts and funding; no dates or tickets are available.

International board recruitment, regional advisors, English/Spanish priorities and rotating session times make global participation part of the model.
